Can't Crack the Animated Crack

I was so excited to start working on FX stuff. I found a nifty tutorial for making an animated crack using the L-tree system in Houdini essential as a mask for creating a crack in a ground plane.

Sadly this was done in version 13 and the newest iteration of Houdini has updated the for each node. I've been tweaking and messing with different ideas but the color attribute isn't applying properly for each point so I am unable to control the width and depth of the mask properly.

For now I've tabled this and gone back to a simple rigid body destruction using a voronoi fracture set up and L-tree to guide the direction of the crack. Not perfect but this is a place holder for now. This summer I hope to refine this a bit more and figure out the for each node. Figuring out that tutorial will really help nail the style our short is going for.
